Our firm was founded in the late 1700s and we are proud of a two hundred year tradition of serving the legal needs of our many clients - initially the people of Appleby-in-Westmorland and the Eden Valley and now throughout the country.

For individuals, many of whose families have been clients of our firm for generations, we are the friendly first port of call for conveyancing, wills and the
administration of family estates.

For businesses and farmers we provide a commercial legal service with a practical, business-like approach. We like to know our clients and their businesses, so that we can put their legal requirements into context, rather than just dealing with isolated legal issues.

Through our professional connections with independent financial advisers, we offer the route to advice on financial planning, to complete the picture. We also use those connections to offer our clients to assist our clients in obtaining other professional advice that we cannot supply.

With a modern approach, effective communications and the use of information technology, we are able to provide our services to our clients wherever they live in the country.
